Inverse: "I hold the pieces close together to remember to hold onto these moments"

Listening to Inverse's "Everything Is Beautiful" for about the 5th time today reminds me of the humility and kindness I have neglected. When all seems to be crappy and not going my way, when I cry, when I have some quiz to study for, when I'm buggin' about strangers, when I complain: none of it remotely compares to the real life (or death) situations that people are facing every day and right now. I honestly can't imagine how I'd be in the face of storms and floods with little to no resources. Word to Kristia on Typhoon Ondoy (via Doorknockers):
"Our people are being killed first by global warming. The people I love (including myself) are partially responsible for natural disasters like this. That is the most painful part.

Humble yourself, we have work to do if we want human life to continue on this planet."
Prayers for the Philippines and surrounding Southeast Asian countries, and for my Cavite family. Thank God the typhoon has ended and my relatives in the Visayas and Mindanao were not hit. I have missed the Philippines all summer, and now I really do miss it.
